In the past, the Lady Bulldogs usually clad a navy blue or white jersey with gold accents. Sunday seemed like the start of something new, not just with Meneses debut as head tactician but also because of the new threads.

MANILA, Philippines — Nine years ago, Sherwin Meneses used to be one of the promising young coaches in the collegiate ranks when he handled his alma mater Adamson in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament from 2012 to 2016.

Away from his school, Meneses made his own mark when he was tasked to take over the Creamline Cool Smashers from coach Tai Bundit in the PVL in 2022, winning seven titles including a historic grand slam last year — the first since the league had three conferences in one season.

MANILA, Philippines — Angel Canino is determined to settle her unfinished business as she leads La Salle’s redemption bid in this UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.

Expect the former rookie MVP winner to be all out as she embraces the team captain role for the new-look La Salle, which lost several players from last year’s bronze medal finish.

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson’s prized rookie Shaina Nitura is eager to showcase her talent as the young leader of her rebuilding team in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.

Nitura has a chip on her shoulder as last year’s girl’s division Season and Finals MVP ushers in a rookie-laden squad.

But the 20-year-old spiker refused to be overwhelmed by the expectations, aiming to just play her game and relish her time in the collegiate ranks.
